The uniform regulation of 1894 introduced standardized firefighter uniforms.
The foundation of the ceremonial uniform became a blue coat known as the “camara” – a close-fitting coat symbolizing the national awareness of Czech fire brigades. It featured a turned-down folded collar and was fastened with five double camara-style loops. The trousers were either in the same color as the camara or black. The cap was made of dark blue cloth.
Gradually, firefighter uniforms became distinctly different from military ones. Ranks were indicated by braided cords (shoulder knots) worn on the left shoulder.
