For all employees in places of detention, serving in administrative or supervisory roles, a white armband is established, wide approx. 8.9 cm, and must be worn on the left arm while performing official duties. The armband bears the seal of the place of detention, and embroidered with cord or braid are the capital letters of the name of the place of  detention, and a number corresponding to the personal identification document.

Longitudinal stripes 1 cm wide are sewn onto the armband, at the same distance from each other.
The color of the stripes is set uniformly for the entire province or region by the respective Punitive Department. – For administrative personnel, the armband does not display a number, but a stamp and letter markings are mandatory.
* Persons carrying out medical and sanitary duties wear the armband assigned to the position of junior warden, with the emblem of the Geneva Convention sewn onto a red ribbon.
The letter designations on the distinguishing armbands:
МИТД - Correctional Labor House
МТД - Labor House for Juveniles
МДПЗ - Pre-Trial Detention House
ВПТ - Transfer Prison
ПТБ - Prison Hospital
where the first letters of the abbreviations indicated the name of the city in which the corresponding place of detention was located.
